There was at time
When thoughts that sprang
Within my mind were for my own pleasure
When lovely visions
Stayed inside me as things to treasure

Then came a time
When someone asked
If I would share what I found as wonder
When my reflections
Were sought out visions for someone to ponder

Followed a time
When the phone would ring
And my heart would sing with joyous laughter
When speaking my thoughts
And sharing my dreams were for ever after

Too soon a time
When silence greeted
My words of wisdom that once sparked imagination
When ears now listened
Only because of polite obligation

Now is a time
When the beauty around me
Seems more enhanced when shared with others
When I seek out another
To tell those dreams I still have left over

There was a time
But that was then
And this is now.
