Loke: Rail pass integration faces operational hurdles
Description
The integration of the Rapid KL travel pass with KTMB Komuter services is currently difficult due to differences in operators, systems, routes and operating costs, says Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
While Rapid KL is operated by Prasarana, KTMB Komuter covers longer inter-state routes with higher operating costs, making full integration of fare systems like My50 challenging.
Loke said both services remain government-supported public transport systems that are not profit-driven, but still require cost recovery to sustain operations.
