Lockdowns vs. Delta | The Exchange

Economic and industrial hubs are again shutting their borders to stop the fast-spreading Delta variant on its tracks. Metro Manila is isolating about 12 million people for two weeks. It's neighboring province Laguna is also under hard lockdown for 10 days alongside Cagayan De Oro and Iloilo cities.

10.2 million, that's the number of fully vaccinated Filipinos as of Wednesday, August 4th. But the number is still far from the 70 million target for herd immunity by year end. Now, the Labor department is making it clear: companies cannot fire unvaccinated employees.
