I’m turning over a new leaf
A new deck of cards
Setting up new goals,
Reaching for the stars.

Running for a better me,
Never looking back
Acquiring the things
That I seem to lack.

Belittling the stale me
Sweeping up the old
Here comes my poker face,
I’m not going to fold.

In my hand
Is the key to the future
Full house, full mind
Reminiscing every feature.

Transparencies fading away
Unknowingly being known
Tomorrow may be brighter
Reaping what I’ve sown.

Laying my cards on the table,
Betting all that is mine
All the jokers have been used,
I’m going to win this time.
