Truth. The speckled egg
No separating its substance
You have not the extravagance of telling just a fleck
Nor merely exposing some part of pale ashen shell
That is for the chicken
No. It is the whole egg

And it cracks you open
Shell, speckles and all
Revealing to the world
The very colour of your yolk
