Lives – ‘Black Soul’

A window on the Latin American continent, as seen through the eyes of people, either well known or ordinary individuals, who give the viewer an insight into the essence of the region. This week we view the short animated film “Black Soul,” written and directed by the Canadian filmmaker with Haitian roots, Martine Chartrand. In it, a young boy’s grandmother takes him through his heritage of slavery, suffering and rebellion with images of 15,000 oil paintings on glass, accompanied by African rhythms, gospel music and jazz. teleSUR
