Little Cat - Pessimism

I will cling to you
in obsession
for as long as you
keep the better part of me.

For you hold my heart
in your hands
and control me with simple demands.

You keep me enthralled
to the point of ecstasy,
even when we're only acting platonically.

You save me from myself
and any lingering doubt
with a small smile,
and four words
that don't express what we feel
quite perfectly.

Yet even still
my pessimism perseveres
for I know how easy it is
to bore of me.

Even though your
now my world
to me,
I shy away in fear,
for I have no doubt,
that you will find someone better
than me.
