Lithium battery in ice block explodes

This experiment should not be carried out without proper safety equipment and in a well ventilated outside area.
A Lithium CR123 cell was frozen in a block of ice, and overcharged with AC current at 40 Ampères at 170 Volts 50 Hertz.
The result was a violent reaction with lots of sparks.
