Liposuction normal side effects

Description
During the first 24-48 hours after the liposuction, you may experience some degree of pain and discomfort in your body. This is absolutely normal. Many patients experience mild pain and discomfort; however, the exact intensity of the pain depends on your pain tolerance level. I have even seen patients who haven’t experienced any pain at all. To provide you relief from the pain, your doctor may recommend some pain relief medications.
The second common and temporary side effect of liposuction is swelling. The surgery involves incisions, which means your skin, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels may be injured during the procedure. After the procedure, your body’s natural healing process will come into action. The swelling is an indication that your body is working to heal the incisions and injured tissue. The swelling will gradually disappear over the next few weeks.
Next, your body will be bruised after liposuction. The areas operated upon may become discolored and inflamed. The bruising is a common and temporary condition. Over the next few weeks, you will see the bruises gradually disappear.
There is also a probability that your skin will have a temporary change in sensation. This occurs when the nerves are injured during the surgery. As the nerves heal, you will regain your natural skin sensation. This may take a few weeks.
Another common and unavoidable side effect of liposuction is scarring. The tiny incisions placed on your body during the procedure will develop into scars. While the scars will fade and become less visible after a few months, they will stay with you for a lifetime. You should bear in mind that any procedure that involves incisions leaves scars, and liposuction is no exception. Luckily, the liposuction scars will be tiny and almost invisible.
Another common side effect that many patients experience after liposuction is baggy or wrinkled skin. The condition will gradually subside as the skin retracts after a few weeks or months unless you have excess skin prior to surgery.
