Linger Lodge - BBQ, Karaoke, Splendid Sc

This Bradenton, Florida, institution has been described as one of the weirdest restaurants in the country. My wife and I love it, and we've met more than a few excellent people who live in the surrounding trailer park and RV camp. Lovely spot on the Braden River, too, with just enough alligators to keep tourists and other annoyances down to a tolerable level. Sadly, Linger Lodger has recently fallen into the hands of some local Greeds who are more famous for despoiling waterfront than for saving it. Even though they claim they're going to leave the place as it is, maybe even fix it up a bit. But they're Republicans, so one day they will yield to their baser instincts and replace the delightful Linger Lodge with ugly high-rise condom(inium)s or blah tract houses. Ah, well. Please enjoy this leftover bit of 'Old Florida' as much & as often as you can before the Greeds ruin it the way they've ruined so much of the rest of the state.
