Linda Ori - Issues

You say you want me in your life
You tell me that you care,
But you have reservations
And it really isn't fair
To tell me that you love me,
That I mean the world to you,
And then to make excuses -
What am I supposed to do?

You want some sort of clarity,
A promise I can't give
That everything will be alright -
You have your life to live,
But life is unpredictable,
It doesn't follow rules,
I can only promise love -
We may end up as fools;

What I resent is hesitance,
Your failure to commit -
You either choose to love me now
Or that's the end of it!
I don't have all the answers,
I have no crystal ball,
But I think I'm the one who runs
The risk to lose it all;

You're so concerned what others think
You worry what they'll say,
This is our chance for happiness -
There is no other way;
It's time for you to take a stand,
To say what's in your heart,
Speak your truth and honor us
Or we will fall apart;

I'll come to you when you are sure
That I am what you need,
But until then my hands are tied
I cannot take the lead -
You hold all the cards, my love
It's time to play your hand,
Whatever choice you choose to make
I'll try to understand.
