Note: this was originally a song i wrote: but now it's not.

No longer can I weep for you my dear
No longer can I write these words for you
I’ve walked this earth for years
Burdening the memory
Of you
I wish that I could change the past
Bring back the things fire took away
So greedily
But there’s nothing I can do
So I lie here at night
Imagining a world where people are happy
But that’s only in my mind

But I still can’t forget
What burnt down is gone and will always be that way
All the water in the world couldn’t of saved you
Couldn’t smolder what was made to be
And I regret the thing I helped you do
But I don’t regret me and you
The ashes stay that way

No longer can I research what happened
No longer can my acquaintances save me
I’ve read your letters over and over again
And it comes to mind that there’s no going back
But never will your memory leave me
The taste of the root beer as I looked into your eyes
I knew somewhere in the back of my mind
It’s to good to be true
So many stories end in fire
Heartbreak and misery
Ours is no exception
And that’s not only in my mind

I will never forget you
I will play a few sad songs
And picture your face, laughing the way you did
I will stay strong for you
I will keep a certain file
In my heart for always, eternity
But most of all, for your sake
I will never play with fire again…

I can hear it in my head
When I sleep at night
See the flames
Over and over again
Did we choose our fate?
When we were taken away,
Or did they choose it for us?
Our love wasn’t meant to be
Ridden with catastrophe

And I regret the thing I helped you do
