Lilac Blues is a six piece original music group which comprises of two female vocalists; Laura OGara and Kathleen Mahon, who while singing with two distinctly different styles, blend together through melodic harmonies. Alan Taylor is the guitar player whose music gels them all together. The group are joined by dave mulcahy on bass justin mulcahy on lead and Lauras brother Emmett OGara on drums/rhythm. Lilac Blues originally came together in late 2007 . last year we entered the all ireland talent show and reached the live semi finals which was a great experience. We are working on and performing solely our original material, which reflects our different styles and backgrounds. Jazz, blues,rock, irish and even clasical music feature in the bands past and in our influences, so just what our style is were still not sure. We do know however that we enjoy writing and performing our music is what drives us and those that hear it share in our enthusiasm. We are currently working on recording our first album which is our main focus at the minute So that's where we are now, doing our thing and having a great time!
