DECLUTTER ALL AT ONCE\r
o Clean/organize everything at once vs in small increments. When you do it at once there will be a dramatic difference that you will feel and it will be life changing\r
o This will end the cycle of clutter\r
o I think the perfect time to do this is if youre moving or over a long weekend\r

DISCARDING\r
o Most important aspect of tiding is discarding. More stuff is more stress in our lives and the reason things constantly get messy is because we have too much stuff\r

TIDY BY CATEGORY vs by room/area\r
o The reason for this is that we have one type of item in multiple locations and if you miss items you will not get everything repeat the same patterns\r
o Her categories are: clothes, books, papers, komono (miscellaneous), mementos\r

HOW TO DISCARD\r
o Start the process by gathering every item from category you own and put it into a big pile \r
o Only keep items that spark joy – hold it and feel your reion to it\r

HOW TO ORGANIZE – Clothing Organization \r
o Most clothing should be folded versus hung up – it saves space and also forces you to have more interion with each item\r
o How to fold clothes: \r
• Fold lengthwise towards center to make a long rectangle\r
• Fold the short ends together and continue until the height matches the drawer height \r
• Instead of storing them on top of each other, stack them! This way you can see every item and it saves space\r
o Hanging items\r
• Hang items in same category side by side, dress section, jacket section, etc\r
• Heavy items on left going to lighter items on the right\r
• Heavy means most length and heavier fabrics and dark in color\r
o Seasonal clothes\r
• She doesnt believe in seasonal clothes – all items should be kept out. This prevents hoarding clothes \r
