Description

The town of Levski is an administrative centre of a municipality with population of 12 141. It is a small town situated in the heart of the Danube Plain, North Bulgaria.
By the name of Karaagatch (Black Elm tree) the settlement has existed since the Ottoman empire.
In 1897 the village was named after the Bulgarian Apostle of Freedom Vasil Levski.
Small, but picturesque, nowadays town attracts the attention to its pretty houses and gardens.
In Levski, birthplace of the popular Bulgarian actor Georgi Partsalev, there is a house museum “Georgi Partsalev” with stage costumes, books, furniture, icons and other belongings endowed by his mother.
The River Ossam crosses the whole municipal land, Shavarna Park in particular, near Levski, – paradise for forest and fishing fans.
