Federal officials have announced that the multi-state E.coli outbreak tied to romaine lettuce is over.
The FDA and CDC in November warned people against consuming romaine grown in Salinas, California.
The officials investigated outbreaks involving three separate strains of E. coli that sickened more than 167 people.
Approximately 85 people were hospitalized and more than a dozen people developed kidney failure.
