Sunlight drips through the canopy
staining the grass below

Such golden, honey-coloured tears
splash against the mottled leaves
and seep into the ground,
cast over by cool, damp shadows;

b r e a t h e

The soft, dank earth welcomes
the new beginning
when songbirds will blossom
and roses will sing
