Bilbo is simply sitting outside and enjoying the day when a wizard named Gandalf approaches him and asks if he would like to go on an adventure. In true hobbit fashion, Bilbo did want to go on an adventure, and told Gandalf to be on his way. What Bilbo did not know is that Gandalf had already planned an adventure for the young hobbit. Bilbo was to go on an adventure with thirteen dwarves to reclaim the lost mountain kingdom of erebor.

Along the way, the company meets many interesting characters, including elves, eagles dwarves, men, a skin changer, goblins, wargs and a dragon!
