The name of the Olympic mascot pays tribute to Brazilian musician Vinicius de Moraes and the name of Paralympic mascot pays tribute to the Brazilian musician Tom Jobim. \r
Vinicius is a mix of different Brazilian animals and Tom is a unique mixture of the Brazilian flora. Alongside his Paralympic Games colleague, Vinicius represents the diversity of the Brazilian people and culture, as well as its exuberant nature. \r
