and as you're talking

So as you're sitting there

I'm actually spending
it with you, elsewhere.
Hoping you don't know it.

And as I'm sitting there,
I watch your face
and pretend that all those
smiles are from what
I'm doing to you, in my mind.
Playing in my fantasy, you see.

Then I watch you
as you slowly look me over...
only in my mind you're
enjoying much more than
what you're actually seeing.
As if it were your fantasy, I see.

And you smile then,
because something within
my eyes betrayed
my secret pasttime
that I have when I'm with you.
I've showed you my fantasy, I see.

So I stand up,
knowing it'll end my time
with you, knowing more
could be had if there
were nothing holding us back.
Reality ending the fantasy...
