Lee Ann Schaffer - Craving Amnesia
1 Views • Nov 07, 2014
Description
The resonance of your voice,
Your silly laugh,
And sillier jokes,
The way you always got mine,
Your hair when we woke in the mornings.
I wish I couldn’t remember
Your triumphant dance at my door when you finally arrived,
You playing on the floor with my cat,
The way you teased me,
They way you touched me,
They way you tasted.
I wish I couldn’t remember
The way your eyes danced with your farm boy grin,
Your sparkling wit, stimulating intellect,
Or your sweet charm,
The way you sat at the bar,
The way you said my name when we made love.
I wish I couldn’t remember
The way your lush eyelashes rested on your cheeks,
And the rhythm of your breathing as you slept,
The shape of your shoulder,
The luster of the hair on your chest in morning light, any light,
The weight of your arm anchoring me.
I wish I couldn’t remember you.
