Learn To Fix A Helicopter In Virtual Reality

Instead of letting players shoot helicopters, this virtual reality program teaches students how to fix them.A partnership between Brigham Young University</a> and Lockheed Martin lets students install, repair, or replace mechanical components. Accessible with an internet connection, the VR program places the trainee in a 3D environment. Engineering students confront situations they’ll face in the real world, learning to “develop muscle memory, improve precision of motion” and repeat procedures from multiple angles.

While still in early stages, developer Jeffery Smith believes this will enable students to “transfer their skills into the real world faster.”
