Leaking Pen - Holy Prayer

To be stripped of my ingrained dignity
My resolve proportionately as strong
The more fate stretches my elasticity
The more I’m aware of right from wrong

First death took away my special friendships
I cultivated with meticulous care
One by one I witnessed their physical trips
To the darkest side: to the abyss dare

As if its cunning plans were not enough
Then death harvested my last gene
First Dad with cancer had it tough
But Mom’s departure was really mean

Retrospect sadness almost got me
When her heart stopped one day
Her core -Love- my family’s tree
That kept us all from disarray

Her last breath the holy prayer
For the almighty to watch over us
Even when she is in the clutch of snare
She drives resolve not with less: but Bless

Where did she get her strength?
Who gave her powers over death?
Here I am debating at length
Instead of taking in her breath!

I will not fail love itself
Past, present, future and beyond
I have rooted myself
In eternity’s greater song

The grave will not be my end
Just a door to reunite with love
Never cry again for family or friend
They light the dim skies above
