Lawrence S. Pertillar - A Need To Be Rejected

I have yet to meet anyone,
Who had a need to be rejected.
I have yet to hear with my ears,
From anyone's lips...
A request from them begging for it.

And yet there are those who reject others,
As if to smother them with neglect.
With a doing of it,
To express no regret or appear to be apologetic.

There are exceptions to the rule of this,
When inflicted and applied...
To those who do this and deny.
They will exlaim when the tables are turned on them,
A wholesomeness within them sits.
And all they do is give of themselves to others.
But the others have druthers to choose the opposite.
With rejection on top of their priority list.

Who had a need to be rejected.
I have yet to hear with my ears clearly,
A request from them begging for it.
Begging and pleading from trembling lips,
To get as much rejection as they can get.
