Laurie hill - How Cold

How cold and dark the night,
when heavens brightest star,
is hid behind the clouds.

How chill the winds,
when summers last warm carress,
is ushered into autumn.

How raged the seas,
when tempest roared, our ship,
towards, the sandbank of tears,

How sad this broken heart
when you close the door,
for the very last time.
