What if I ran to you
held your face in my hands
told you I loved you
as my lips found yours
over and over again
would it be life's truth
or your souls destruction

what if all I see
was interpreted wrong
what I read as hesitation
was a deep desire
for me to be gone
would I be able to tell
before too much was revealed

what if all the doubts cleared
and nothing stood in the way
the moments longed for
and feared
could be claimed everyday
would my life be enough time
to show the love words cannot say
