Lauren B Called - A Dark Place

He studies me still
he hasn't gone
he is as close as he
always was
it was me
me who left
and came back
none of it's right
none of it's wrong
it is still just him and me
and I don't know
where I belong
I am aging
faster than I ever have
soon I will be dust
nothing more than
that which is swept off the floor
and thrown away.
pieces of something useful
but useful no more
we share the darkness
we share the light
but nothing is shared
of this life
if it is in between
if it is just a blink
why does it matter so
for the short time
passes too quickly
embodiment of everything
and nothing
do 'we' even exist
or are we like words on a paper
a paper on a table
forgotten as the wind
blows it out of reach
