2017Ernesto Valverde has announced the squad that will be taking on Murcia in the second leg of the Copa del Rey round of 16 tie at 7.30pm CET on Wednesday (tickets here).
With the team in good stead after winning the first leg 3-0, the manager has opted to rest regular starters Ter Stegen, Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Andrés Iniesta, Luis Suárez, Leo Messi, Jordi Alba and Samuel Umtiti and instead draft in five players from the B team.

There’s also good news in the return of Sergi Roberto from injury. The Catalan has been side-lined with hamstring trouble since the game against Sporting Lisbon.

The full squad for the game is as follows: Jasper Cillessen, Nelson Semedo, Gerard Piqué, Denis Suárez, Paulinho, Gerard Deulofeu, Paco Alcácer, Lucas Digne, Sergi Roberto, Aleix Vidal, Thomas Vermaelen, Adrian Ortolá (31), Carles Aleñá (26), Oriol Busquets (30), Jose Arnaiz (37) and David Costas (39).

In addition to the players that got call-ups, Sergi Palencia, Vitinho, Carles Pérez and Abel Ruiz of the reserve team also got to work out with the seniors at the Tuesday training session, where Ousmane Dembélé also put in an appearance as he continues to battle back from injury.

Este martes por la tarde Ernesto Valverde ha hecho pública la lista de los jugadores convocados que afrontarán la vuelta de los dieciseisavos de la Copa del Rey ante el Murcia en el Camp Nou (19.30 horas, beIN Sports). Los azulgranas parten con una buena ventaja de la ida en la Nueva Condomina, donde ganaron por 0-3. Valverde que ha dado descanso a los jugadores Ter Stegen, Rakitic, Sergio, Iniesta, Suárez, Messi, Jordi Alba y Umtiti ha decidido completar la convocatoria con cinco jugadores del filial. Sergi Roberto es una de las novedades también en la lista tras recuperarse de su lesión.

De este modo, la lista para disputar el partido ante el Murcia es la siguiente: Cillessen, Semedo, Piqué, Denis Suárez, Paulinho, Deulofeu, Alcácer, Digne, S. Roberto, Aleix Vidal, Vermaelen, Ortolá (31), Aleñá (26), O.Busquets (30), Jose Arnaiz (37) y David Costas (39).

Antes de hacer pública la lista y posterior a la rueda de prensa previa Valverde ha dirigido una sesión de entrenamiento en la Ciudad Deportiva en los que ha contado con los disponibles del primer equipo en el camp Tito Vilanova y nueve jugadores del filial: Palencia, Aleñá, David Costas, Jose Arnaiz, O.Busquets, Vitinho, C.Pérez, Abel Ruiz y A.Ortolá. Una sesión donde se ha podido ver también a Dembélé sobre el césped del campo Tito Vilanova donde continúa con su proceso de recuperación.
