I have used laser for years. It can be an effective tool. A laser around the nerves, if used with indiscretion, it can hurt the spine. It can hurt the nerve. You have to be very careful with a laser. When it's appropriate, it's a good modality. It's not a cure-all. It's not a panacea. It's not the perfect fit for every spinal problem. Lasers can be effective, but there's nothing magical about lasers. Typically someone who's a younger individual with a one-level isolated disc problem off to the side - catching the nerve root only... typically those are the best candidates for spine laser surgery. Many of the surgeries are day surgeries. Have it done; go home same day. We get you up. We get you walking almost immediately. When appropriate, we have physical therapists on staff, and we're happy to order physical therapy.
