Lara A. Aqrawi - The Willow Tree

Description
Caught in a desert storm
Such a feeling overtakes me
When I sense you might be gone
Rooted to the ground
Without the means to survive
I start to wonder what is the point
Of fighting to stay alive
Why struggle
To make it everyday
When I know that my other half
Is leaving me astray
Remembering how you made me feel
As I look back at how it used to be
A blooming oasis in the midst of the desert
And not just a lonesome damaged tree
Embracing this special feeling
That steers my senses
I become too frail and weak
To keep up my defences
In spite all my efforts
Uncontrollably in the wind I sway
Pleading in my proud assertive nature
For you to stay
From afar I see your shadow
With arms open wide
Tired of keeping this internal battle
I leave my fears behind
Hopeful I run towards you
No longer a lifeless tree
Yet a blossoming willow
Grateful that she can finally truly be!
