Labour level with Lib Dems in new poll
Description
Labour has caught up with the Liberal Democrats while the Conservatives are maintaining a narrow lead, according to an opinion poll.
The ComRes poll for The Independent and ITV News put Labour on 29 per cent, one point up on Monday and level-pegging with the Lib Dems, who are down two.
The Tories are up one on 33 per cent - suggesting that the country is still heading for a hung Parliament on May 6.
A Populus poll for The Times, however, has the Conservatives on 36 per cent, up four on last week, with the Lib Dems down three on 28 per cent and Labour down one on 27 per cent. The latest YouGov poll for The Sun puts Labour back in front of the Lib Dems. It has Labour up one from yesterday on 29 per cent, the Lib Dems down one on 28 per cent, with the Tories unchanged on 33 per cent.
