En 1871 Mohand-ait-Amoqrane, Chikh-ElMoqrani, a fait de L'Qelaa n Ait Abas son bastion pour son insurrection contre le pouvoir colonial français.
Son tombeau se trouve dans la cour de la mosquée dont on voit le grand mur dans cette vidéo.
