As you get older
You start to expand
You try not to notice
Your extending waistband

You put on your pants
And the fat it hangs out
Yes, you’re starting to gain
Of this, there is no doubt

You try to ignore it
It’s as clear as your nose
The buttons are popping
Off all of your clothes

You get so depressed
That you, start to cry
Beginning to wonder
How this happened and why

Am I eating more food
Not exercising
Without speaking a word
His eyes criticizing

Try every new diet
They swear it will work
I stay on it one day
Then I feel like a jerk

I carried four babies
That’s partly to blame
And I am who I am
I should not have to feel shame

If truth need be told
Problems not with my man
I must learn to like me
If only I can
