Pain is looking at the rose that he gave you.
Pain is reading that text message again and again.
Pain is seeing him everyday.

Pain looks like a single rose, all alone.
Pain looks like a girl crying.
Pain looks like a dagger covered in blood.

Pain smells like his cologne in the store.
Pain smells salty like tears.
Pain smells like amber musk.

Pain tastes like ketchup smothered on fries.
Pain tastes like an ice cube.
Pain tastes like the blood that runs down your arm.

Pain sounds like a gunshot.
Pain sounds like a pen that is writing.
Pain sounds like footsteps running away.

Pain feels like thorns cutting into you.
Pain feels like Christmas without presents.
Pain feels like a thousand daggers piercing your heart.

Pain is having him break up with you.
That is pain.
