kyle rainbolt - an escape

 escape this madness
or at least leave a mark
but i cant cause im tripping
and falling through the dark
everytime i think ive found it,
the exit to this place
i just open a door
to another wall in my face
but disgrace leads to shame
and i wont have that
ill open door after door
and keep hold of these flashbacks
so i can never forget
the place from which i came
what makes me ME
the reason im insane
some hate me for my deeds
still others understand
but not once was there an offer
to come and take my hand
to help me off my knees
when i was kicked into the dirt
i did this shit myself
it didnt matter if it hurt
i played my own cards
the way that i saw fit
survived five years of hell
and emerged from that pit
a little harder than before
and little less emotion
but its tough find feelings
so i keep going through the motions
someday i have to quit though
i cant pretend forever
i must find a way to see
that this life will soon get better.
