Kyiv locals speak about Crimea
21 Views • Feb 27, 2014
Description
One lady told our correspondent: “Crimea is situated close to Russia and they watch Russian television channels. A friend who lives there told me there were no news about what was happening here at Maidan. People in Crimea don’t even know.”
Another local told euronews: “Very good that we have at least some government now. Let’s start like this. About Crimea, a lot depends on Crimeans themselves: how they will behave, what they think about this…I think it’s better if everything happens peacefully, not like Kyiv. This all depends on Crimeans and their views.”
Crimea, the only Ukrainian region with an ethnic Russian majority, is the last big bastion of opposition to the new leadership in Kyiv since President Viktor Yanukovych was ousted.
