If you are interested in metrology it is interesting to see how manufacturers design certain meter dials, to minimise the burden on the disc, by extra gearing and counterweights operating the numbers for a quick change over every 10 units.
The disc has to make 2500 revs to lift ovet the 10 unit counter weight to allowe for a fast changeover in numbers.
