2013 was a breakout year for singer/songwriter Erskine "Kullurd" Proverbs.

He emerged from the Bajan underground reggae scene with a unique roots/reggae conscious directive that proved much welcomed and unmatched.

Hailing from the rural district of Kendal, St.John, in the early part of his musical journey he temporarily diverted from his path but not for long.

During that time Kullurd never stopped writing and continued to sharpen his skills. His eventual reunion with music was underscored by the knowledge that his catalog of songs was good enough, in terms of quality, for him to move forward in pursuit of a solid singer/songwriter career.

By the spring of 2013 he signed a management deal with GrayWorks Media and later that year entered Barbados' prestigious National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) where he was awarded a Silver Medal for his self-penned entry "Lockdown".

As a youth, Kullurd's musical influences were defined by the sounds of Jamaican reggae artists and shaped by Barbadian chanters Li'l Rick, Ras Mikey, Jesse James, Rankin' Ricky, and Peter Ram.

Kullurd's style however is very much his own. His musical trod began with performances at open mic sessions at the well known Braddies Bar and Edge Bar, and this eventually lead to an invitation to perform at a show headlining Jamaican dance hall artiste Munga.

Kullurd further caught the attention of local producers and in 2005 embarked on his first reggae-recording "Soldiers in the Bush" with producer Pipie of Pipie Productions. Since then Kullurd has worked with Barbadian producers Marlon Fox of Fox Hole Productions, Get Dark Studios lead by Dan Corey and 10, Renaissance Entertainment guided by the team of Capone and Jafar, as well as cultural officer (music) of the National Cultural Foundation, Ronald Davis.

He has guest performed with reggae sensation Albert Olton and the Revalayshun Band and in 2012 took the stage at FAS Entertainment's Bajan Reggae Night portion of the annual Barbados Reggae Festival.

Taking his career to new heights and his music into the hearts of appreciative audiences everywhere, Kullurd continues on his musical journey with the release of his new single "Lockdown" recorded at Radar Studios.

Kullurd's music is a delicious mix of positive songs with a peaceful, thought-filled message. He is a gifted composer, employing a fresh style to his contagious roots laden music that causes listeners to easily embrace him.

His music is like the world around him inspirational, brilliant and deep. Dubbed an ancient man for modern times his charismatic performances make him a favorite on any stage.
