Kristen Brown - Death

To have a fear of death
Does that mean that we forsake life?
Forever wondering when our time will come
Always fearing the inevitable can dampen the joy

The love and the happiness once felt from the heart
Are now beats of sadness
Like tears falling along a thread
The thread that broke loose
As my soul ripped from my chest

My spirit left my body
But I didn’t yet leave
I lingered in the room wondering
Is this all there is to me?
