Kris Viscardini - Silent Awareness

Activity abounds as we rush around
building our houses of cards
we think them solid and stable
and able to avoid
collapsing to shards and myriad sparks
to be lost in the infinite void

We seldom stop
to still the mind
believing in our grandeur and high will
not knowing we need to stop the flywheel
of the mind
spinning out of control

All our experience
Is merely armouring
concealing the secret
that we're all harbouring

Take time to halt
to savour the eternal malt
in stillness dwell
and feel the spell
the still small voice of conciousness

that sweetly tells us
we are loved and love itself
a piece of God
and all of God at once
love is infinite and eternal
and everything is love
and silent awareness
