kolawole ogunfowokan - The Question

Description
Thinking of the strife
How pain cuts like a very sharp knife
Not able to say who makes a good wife
It has gone rife
the beautiful ones twist the pocket
Hope seemingly lost
Heads bowed
Egos deflated
Here it pops out again
what makes the heart of men so wicked?
Searching deep down
Eyes laden with a frown
The heads are all clowns
all have soiled the gown
Even before the cock crows
The extent of deception deals a great blow
Nothing to make the eyes glow
The seed we sow
And the rate at which they grow
Asks questions of what we know
Here it pops out again
What makes lies so sweet?
Looking at the things we see now
When will the gains of the pain
Wash away our tears
When will the promises allay our fear
How will we move from here to get there
Thinking and sinking
Fake laughs and smile we wear
what in the picture is our share
What awaits the ones coming from behind
And it pops out here again
When do we see our dreams come true?
Listening to what is said concerning us
The land abounds with resources
Can we say this a curse
When will we utilize our potential
And run our Idea as a course
When will our kings and queens stop leaving the shores
And start making home a greener pasture
When will the land be healed
Free from oppression and disease of the mind
How shall we be free
When we have a scarcity mentality
What becomes of our land
When it is been raped in day light
And the question pops up again
Who becomes the Messiah of the land?
