Kody Latham - Remeberance

Remebrance

the screams of the dying
and their crying
are driving me insane
they just seem to never leave my brain
all i can remeber is the the pounding rain
of the artillery setting off explosions
and throwing up dirt in a quick attempt at erosion
but i have learned that it was never the bullets
that were my greatest enemy
but the memories
and the scars they have left on my soul
i seem to always feel like any empty bowl
begging for water but i am denied
for i have already had my time
with my innocence
so i am left to reminiscence
on the past and all i can do is ask
how much longer could all of this last?
