Kiss keeps rocking

STORY: After nearly 40 decades, American rock band Kiss are showing no signs of slowing down.

The four member band has just released their 20th studio album named "Monster," which describes the CD's large, sonic sound.

The veteran rockers said at this point in their career they are only competing with themselves.

"What we've done in the past casts this huge shadow, but we're also in a point in our careers now were we are really at the best stage in terms of the camaraderie within the band, the ability to play, and 'Monster' is the proof of that," said Paul Stanley.

The 12-track CD was produced by founding member and guitarist Paul Stanley. Each of the songs were co-written by the members as a way to stay true to the music and themselves.

The band first formed in New York City in 1973 and quickly became known for their entertaining live stage shows, which include pyrotechnics, fireworks and of course, their black and white face paint.

As a part of their media tour, the band spent part of their day at Sirius XM satellite radio answering questions from 20 lucky fans.

While Kiss admits one day they do plan to retire, they explained that right now they are still in full stride.

"When you're in the middle of a party and somebody comes up to you and says 'what time are leaving?' - you look at them like they are from Mars, you say, 'what are you talking about, I'm having the time of my life, why are you talking about what time am I leaving,' we're like that. It's the middle of the party for us."

"Monster" hit stores on October 9.
