Description

Because of impending sorrows
I drowned my yesterday
Then soaked my tomorrows
Seeking a better way

Found solace in the flask
When my liquid appeaser gone
A well completed task
Total worries none

With hazy numbness eyes
I see the world adversely
With it's crapulous lies
It spins it's tale at me

With uninhibited impudence
I stumble on through time
Flirting with coincidence
Accidents no fault of mine

With inebriated childishness
I play my drunken game
With convoluted happiness
From myself divert the blame

Deep down I know the threat
Of what drinking does to me
But the illness makes me bet
That with it my life is free

If I choose to let the bottle go
And live my life drink free
I'll be much happier I know
But it's something I can't see

So let this tipple be my death
Let it erode away my life
I'll drink until there's no more breath
Then at least there's no more strife
