Kingdom Hearts Re : Coded

Square Enix are about to throw the doors to a world of adventure wide once more - KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded is ready to boot up, process and render on the Nintendo DS.

The KINGDOM HEARTS series of action-adventure games allows players to enter fantastic (yet familiar) locations from Disney cartoons, fight side by side with iconic Final Fantasy and Disney characters and become legendary heroes themselves!

Set after KINGDOM HEARTS II, this entry in the series follows the story of Jiminy Cricket, Goofy, Donald Duck and King Mickey; while a mysterious and unexpected turn of events heralds the return of tenacious teenager Sora as the protagonist!

The story begins shortly after Sora’s second journey draws to a close, when Jiminy Cricket reviews the journals chronicling their adventures together and happens upon a mysterious scrap of text that he never wrote: “Their hurting will be mended when you return to end it.”

The journal is digitised for further analysis, but doing so creates a ‘datascape’ which is overrun by sinister enemy bugs. Thankfully, digitising the journals also creates a code version of the hero Sora; ready to bash the bugs, solve the mystery – and maybe along the way illuminate events of previous titles in the series!

KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded introduces new mechanics, revitalising the gameplay that fans will be familiar with while providing easy-access action for new players. The “Deck Command” system is incorporated to help you quickly and simply execute a wealth of magical or physical attacks in battle, whereas the Stat Matrix lets you improve Sora’s powers and abilities using a straightforward visual interface.

This instalment in the series also includes a wide variety of gameplay types to keep you on your toes: from side-scrolling boss levels, through 3D shooting challenges to Command Battles from the Final Fantasy series!

In addition to the main story, KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded allows players to create and swap custom avatars with other players using DS Wireless Communications. Exchanging avatars means that players can trade and collect new floors to build their own cool, custom Avatar Sector!
