Kevin Wang - 'Basketball'

with a quick thump of a heartbeat
the praising word upon mind
by the flick of a hand
where that of then
money gapes that sweet, clean swish
from the start of a basketball
and ends with a ballerina's

with a twirl on that pivot
the echoing footsteps on that gravel floor
run up to that cinder block of a statue
and burn him with the might of a ferocity of a dragon
and leave it hanging for a second or two to spare
as it takes the crowd's breaths away

sparkling sweat which embodies the darkened sun
the wanting of the intending sound echoing through the mind
strategizing the neck of the battle on this part of the day
let us have that last satisfying shot like of once before
until we go back home
with our chests up high in the reddened sky
and our muscles sore when we once asked for more

let us someday
organize another game
another play like of the old days
let us take that favorable past into the new days
don't let us part
but only the keep together with this sport
keeping us all alive
let us
let us
play this game once again
