Kevin Halls - Turning into a Stranger

He noticed a change in her
just little things at the start
then she became forgetful
and no longer liked to dress smart.
She would often go missing
walking for miles out of the way
the Husband would eventually find her
but it would happen again another day.
She then became very aggressive
when once she was gentle and kind
this woman he loved had changed
and he thought she was losing her mind.
She had turned into a stranger
as she didn't even know her husbands name
the Doctor then gave him the awful news
his wife would never ever be the same.
This poor woman was diagnosed with Alzheimers
such a cruel and horrible state
so the husband had lost not just a wife
but his best friend and soul mate.
He visited her in the Home for years
where he always tried so hard to be brave
but now he sheds tears of relief and sadness
as he bends down to lay flowers upon her Grave.
