Description

in a straight line they stand like soldiers in a drill
regimental and still, uniform in spacing
these soldiers report for duty no more

the bigger crypts define the industrial revolution
a who's who of guns, germs, and steel
the way the west was won

remnants of the angles and saxons
blue blood of old blighty
masons of the free world

a grandiose remembrant place big tombs of yawkee awe
from a prosperous time of jolly importance i suspect them aloof
imposing as a slave master commanding respect big stature
exposing monies folly the arrogance bred from

the egos driven from a boomtime the empire rising
be not afraid of your passage
these playful treasures of mortal comfort
are dead already
i'll take the free treasure for they do exist in the eyes of kin
more immortal than the granite juts.
