I can hear it all.

I can hear the screams.
And hear all the dreams.
The dreams to go home.
To get away from the noise.
The dreams of peace.
That seem far beyond reach.
I can hear it all.

I can hear the cries.
As the brave men die.
I want it to stop.
I want to go home.
Nothing to do but cover my ears,
And drown out the screams, and the cries
of brave men as they die.
They die for safety.
They die for their country.
They die for peace,
That peace that seems so far out of reach.
