Kenneth Burch - I Walk

As I wake up from my mental slumber I walk along for days, and fall to realize the road I'm on has always gone both ways.

Run, walk or crawl, the end is all the same.. I am here on my own demise, for I am the one to blame.

My decisions rejoice in reason, for I am not alone... I start to grasp reality, as I kick another stone.

I take a step and a breath, the rest will follow through.. A weary traveler such as myself can only think of you!

My shadow lingers alongside me, forever till the end. Forever in an hour glass, still I'm running out of sand..

The day will fall as I will, if I don't stay strong. Night creeps up behind me, I don't have very long.

Your eyes so full of mischief, worry and full of pride.. It makes me think of years ago, when it was me that was by your side..

In the wake of all the happening, my goal a falling star, I piece the puzzle together as I walk upon this tar.

Just one chance is all I need, to prove myself to you. That strength, will, and faithfulness our bond would yet be true.

A downhill trot reminds me, my journey is all but done. To Finnish what I started, a race that's all but won.

Embrace me while my sands run out, to start another day. No more crying over me, I promise... I'm here to stay.
